Your data, your choice

Fit x Fat Privacy Policy

Updated November 6, 2026. This policy describes the current iOS beta.

Your diary and preferences

Fit x Fat stores your meals, foods, recipes, preparations, nutrition totals, profile, calorie-budget settings and preferences on your device. The private diary database is eligible for normal iPhone backups. Apple manages those backups according to your device and account settings. The app reads diary history as you use it and stores historical budget and activity summaries needed for that history.

Apple Health

With your permission, Fit x Fat reads activity summaries, active energy, workouts, date of birth, biological sex, height, weight and body-fat percentage from Apple Health. It uses these values to help set up your profile, calculate calorie budgets and show activity. The integration uses read-only access. You control access in Apple's Health settings and can revoke permissions there. Revoking access affects future reads. Profile values and historical summaries already saved in your diary remain part of its local history.

Widgets

Fit x Fat shares a limited diary summary with its widget extension through an on-device App Group. That summary contains the values and presentation settings needed to display your budget, nutrients and dates. Widgets may also read permitted active-energy data. Widget summaries can remain readable after the first device unlock so widgets can refresh while the phone is locked. Choose widget placement with the visibility of your nutrition and activity information in mind.

Online food lookups

When you use online food search or barcode lookup, Fit x Fat sends the submitted search text or barcode to Open Food Facts. Search requests may include your selected food market or country and include language preferences. The service receives normal connection information such as your IP address and an app-identifying user agent. Open Food Facts handles these requests under its own privacy practices. Review its policy at https://world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy.

Sharing and camera access

You choose when to share supported meals, foods, recipes and preparation content through Fit x Fat files or optical sharing codes. Recipients can keep their own copies of shared content. Camera permission supports scanning product barcodes and Fit x Fat sharing codes. Information you choose to export also becomes subject to the storage and sharing settings of the app or service you use to send it.

Beta testing and support

TestFlight is operated by Apple. Apple may provide the developer with beta-testing information, crash reports and feedback according to Apple's TestFlight and privacy terms. Feedback you send, including screenshots or attachments you choose to include, may contain information from your screen or diary. Support communications are used to respond to your request and investigate reported problems.

Retention and your choices

Your local diary and preferences remain on your device while the app is installed. You can edit or remove individual supported records through the app. Deleting the app removes its private on-device data. Device backups, exported files, recipient copies and Apple Health records are managed separately through their respective apps, services and settings.
